How does the grievance and right to review process interact with the JSE?
An employee who believes that a selection process was flawed may apply for an initial review of an employment related action. This matter must directly concern the employee and they must consider it unfair or inconsistent with the Public Administration Act 2004 or employment standards.
An employee may apply for an initial review within seven days of being notified or becoming aware the decision of the selection panel of a proposed appointment.
A written offer of employment will be made to the successful candidate subject to resolution of any requests for a Review of Actions relating to the selection process. The commencement date for the successful candidate will be postponed until the Review of Actions process is resolved.
